William Marshak is a consultant and retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer with over 26 years of experience in Asia and assignments across the region. Mr. Marshak’s postings have included Principal Commercial Officer at The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Kaohsiung and Deputy Senior Commercial Officer at AIT Taipei as well as assignments as Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of the United States in Hanoi, and Commercial Officer at the U.S. Consulate Generals in Chengdu, Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai.

Prior to joining the Foreign Commercial Service, Mr. Marshak pursued a career in international agriculture, serving as general manager of the Beijing Poultry Breeding Company (Charoen Pokphand/Avian Farms) and as Director of Asian Marketing for Betco, Inc., a U.S. supplier of agricultural buildings and equipment. Mr. Marshak was raised in Pennsylvania and is a long-term resident of Washington State. He holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in Chinese from the University of Washington in Seattle, and an MBA from the University of Washington.
